Can you believe that handbags have overtaken perfume as the biggest moneymaker for fashion houses? - In the past 5 years, sales have risen by over 150% and British women seem to be leading the way by spending £350 million on bags in a year!

I guess then, that most people own more than 1 handbag, with a vast amount of choice and bags to suit all budgets, it is now the norm to rotate your collection, a coordinated bag for the office, maybe a sparkly clutch bag for an evening out or even a designer gym bag!

Celebrities seem to influence our decision of designer bags - that is if you can afford them! For example this season's celebrity followings are the YSL Muse Bag (pictured) which is favoured by Kate Moss and Sophie Dahl, Jimmy Choo's Ramona Bag is loved by Elle Macpherson and Halle Berry but at £1,100 it isn't cheap!!

If the budget doesn't quite stretch to this, then check out the high street stores for look-alikes or maybe even rent a handbag as sites seem to be springing up all the time, then again you could just log on to The Bag Boutique for a unique handbag by an up and coming designer.!
